Star Catcher Welcomes Nathan O’Konek as Chief Operating Officer
Star Catcher is pleased to announce that Nathan O’Konek has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer, bringing a combination of operational, legal, and strategic expertise that will accelerate our progress toward deploying the world’s first orbital energy grid.
A Proven Operator with Deep Aerospace Industry Credentials
Nathan brings more than 15 years of global experience spanning the public and private sectors, with deep expertise scaling high-growth teams and supporting complex civil, commercial, and defense space initiatives. His background includes founding executive roles at rapidly scaling space companies including Neo Space Group (the national space company established by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia), and Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) where he oversaw mission-critical functions to drive organic and inorganic growth, including strategic transactions, space technology development, and scaling corporate systems and processes.
Strengthening Star Catcher’s Leadership for Scaled Growth
Nathan’s arrival significantly deepens Star Catcher’s operational strength at a pivotal moment of rapid expansion. As Star Catcher advances the Star Catcher Network — the first space-based power grid capable of delivering up to 10x more power to satellites without requiring hardware modifications — seasoned leadership is essential for navigating increasing customer demand, regulatory complexity, and global partnerships. His experience scaling aerospace organizations, executing multi-million dollar programs and transactions, and leading cross-functional teams enhances the company’s ability to deliver on near-term deployment milestones and long-term growth opportunities.
With a demonstrated record of operational excellence and strategic execution across the space industry, Nathan adds critical capacity to Star Catcher’s leadership bench as the company accelerates toward orbital demonstrations and prepares for its next phase of growth.
Powering the Next Leap in Space Infrastructure
Star Catcher is building the first in-space power grid, enabling satellites to access energy on demand, which is an essential capability as Low Earth Orbit (LEO) is projected to host more than 60,000 spacecraft by 2030. Recent achievements include record-breaking optical power-beaming demonstrations and successful end-to-end energy transmission tests.
